Not been a great couple of days. After my medicore report on Japanese dada I proceeded to get a horrible migrane during the last hour of class. Luckily I had gone first, but I barely made it through the last two presentations without throwing up. (Note to self: changing slides not good for light sensitivity.) Some excedrin took the edge off, but I couldn't drive home so a fellow classmate gave me a ride and I abandoned the car. (My prof. also offered me some imitrex, but I'm not so comfortable taking someone else's prescription.)
Last night was shot and had to get up early today to get the bus/subway/bus. The day started wonderfully when the first thing I did was put both contacts in the same eye. First time I've done that in 13 years. Not so good.
Then in class a final student was having difficulty finishing the quiz because he couldn't figure out where "sarhara" was. Okay, so I can't write on the board clearly. Another kid thought my "f" was an "s" and so read Ile-Ife as Ile-Ise and didn't know what to do even though the question was about the Yoruba and the student is Yoruba. The other Yoruba student in my class nicely, but repeatedly corrected my pronounciation of Ibeji. (I'm glad he did this, but hate that I can't pronouce anything correctly.) Then he said that instead of the figures being made when a kid dies, they're made at birth and then destroyed when the kid dies. We were both uncertain so the prof. is going to check. I don't mind admitting that I don't know, but I hate screwing up things I should know.
Then it took all afternoon to post some pictures to the website because dreamweaver was looking for the pictures in a different file than the one I was told to put them in. I kept creating webpages that dreamweaver couldn't find. Super-frustrating. (I was also wearing heels that are almost, but not fully, broken in and had incompadible underwear and feminine protection, so was not particularly comfortable and wanted to go home to my sweatpants.)
Now very tired and behind on my work, but more in the mood for tv than studying. Oh why is Veronica Mars on the same time as Lost. Not fair. I'm recently getting in to Veronica Mars and Medium.
