My sister's birthday is coming up (okay in a couple months, but I just had this idea). She just had a baby a few weeks ago.
Do you think a digital video camera is:
1. an awesome idea as they are already psyched about taking a million pictures of the kid and at some point he'll start moving more
2. more work, why are you giving them a gift with assignments like downloading, editing, organizing, and posting?
3. not the best idea for your sister who's busy breastfeeding (and going back to work in a week or two and them will be even more busy) but a good idea for your brother-in-law (who has more free hands) and/or them as a family
4. especially good if you offer to edit their footage for them and make a little movie, say for Christmas or something
Yeah this should be a poll, but I'm lazy.
If I pursue this idea, does anyone have any tips on what kind of camera? We don't own one, so I'm totally lost. They do have a huge HD tv, so I'm thinking HD quality, but they're not super technical use-every-feature type of people (my BIL didn't use email until he met my sister, plus my budget is not full of bells and whistles). So high quality (not a piece of crap that will break in a couple months), user friendly, and reasonably priced (wait, shouldn't that be the criteria for all electronics?)
