This commentary made my morning. Haven't seen the movie, not really interested in seeing the movie, but love the point and was amused by the writing (make sure to read all the way through the dialogue, voldemort, hee!).

Also, what do you think about this this etsy store? I'm kind of loving the heart (in black and white) and the skull (page 2), but I'm concerned about scale. Also love several of the brooches, but I don't really wear brooches.

I like the concept but the scale seems very awkward.

Interesting commentary. I also haven't seen the movie (and don't plan to), but agree that the point raised is interesting. There are films where a female saves the day (often starring Jodie Foster, or Sigourney Weaver), but they're generally regarded as exceptions. Recently I've been seeing similar dialogues about this sort of issue in video games as well, where it can be difficult for folks who aren't white males to find an avatar that fits them (and playable characters that aren't white males tend to be eye-candy females, or heavily stereotyped minorities).

As for the necklaces...yeah, the scale is pretty extreme. The art is pretty cool, though not really my thing.
