My sister is getting married on a beach in Virginia in May. It will be a small ceremony with around 10 guests. She will be wearing a white dress, I think it's drapey and flowing, clearly a wedding dress, but not super formal.

Question of the day: What should I and my mom wear?

My mother emailed me asking me to look at some websites for what she should wear. She can't find any catalogs at home and said she might need to go to a city to find something. I'm also not sure what to wear. We want to look nice and dress up enough for the event, but not be overly formal. I'm thinking some sort of nice dress for me. Maybe in a sundress-type cut (v-neck, sleeveless, a-line, knee-length) in a non-sundress fabric (like silk). No ideas for mom. For my more formal church wedding she wore a bright teal, short-sleeved silk suit with a medium length flowing skirt.

Any ideas? My mom and I have similar figures although she is 3-4 inches shorter and 30 years older than I am.

let me surf some when I get home... is there a budget I shouldn't go over?

yay I was hoping you'd respond :)
I'm sure there's a budget but not sure what it is right now. My mother is usually willing to spend some money on herself for events that will be immortalized forever in pictures. But not high-end designers money. Maybe look at things below $200?

Ooh, thanks. That one's pretty. We hadn't thought of looking at Coldwater Creek, but they have lots of possibilities.
