I had a nice weekend with my parents. Thursday we went out for Indian at the Bombay Club. It was my mother's first time eating Indian food and it was "okay, but spicy." Denis and I thought it was great. Friday they took our car to Manassas to look at battlefields while I had a meeting at the National Gallery. I had hinted that a tank of gas would be really nice (MD's gas is the most expensive in the country, I paid $3.50 a couple weeks ago, now it's still over $3, so if they're going to VA...). Not only did they get me gas, but they washed the car (gross from parking under trees), and got the oil changed! Then we hung out for a bit until Denis and I headed to [livejournal.com profile] bayleaf's for SciFi Friday (oh how we love Scifi Friday, including [livejournal.com profile] ellen_fremedon's homemade cookies. I guess my cookies last week were enough to encourage her to bake them again.)

Saturday Denis ditched us for a comic con (comicon?, comiccon?) in Baltimore to see the Penny Arcade guys, so we spent 3+ hours in the Postal Museum. It was pretty cool. Then we had lunch at Union Station and my mom got me a couple more tops at Ann Taylor, which I don't really need, but which are pretty. (I don't think there's anything left at Ann Taylor this month that looks good on me that I haven't bought.) Then we had to go to this bakery to get specific bread and cookies for Melissa and Diogo who are apparently wasting away in the northland.

Sunday I just hung out at home and did schoolwork. (Guess what Denis did?)

I complemented my mother's earrings when I first saw her Wednesday night, then Saturday she gave them to me. :) Guess I better not say I like anything else.

Sounds like a great weekend all around. Ooh, how was the postal museum? Tell me, do they have any exhibits on early flight and the postal service? If so, I'm definitely going to plan a visit.

Oh, me too, me too! :D I definitely think we'll have to plan something for the Fridays during SGA/BSG hiatus. I like E's plan to do 'I can't believe you never saw X' movie/show nights. Plus a ritual rewatching of Galaxy Quest wouldn't go amiss.

The postal museum was really neat. They did have some on early flight, a few planes in the atrium and neat exhibit on flight-inspired stamps.

Oh yes, let's not stop during the hiatus. D. and I have a lot on our "never saw X" list so we would be up for watching/rewatching.

Alternatively, maybe you should try saying things like; "Gee mom, I really like your car. It's really nice."
