My very first Livejounal entry, we'll see if this works. To recap exciting things in the last couple weeks:
Halloween: lots of fun (not Halloween proper, but the Readymade party)
My birthday: pretty good, although during a weekend that I had lots of work, Denis gave me pretty earrings, and my mom brought over a nifty chair, both are purple
Elections: depressing (although I am ashamed to say that I did not vote, although I recently registered in MA, so I really shouldn't complain about the outcome, well I guess that I can complain about the outcome in other states).

ok, I should really get to the library to work on my Winslow Homer paper, it is that time in the term. If this works there'll be more later.

Yay for things! I'm glad that your birthday went well even if you were busy with schoolwork. Mine went well too, though on my actual birthday i too had schoolwork - an exam in my Introduction to Accounting class! Luckily this class is, so far, pretty darn easy. We celebrated instead on Wednesday at my parent's house. It was nice, though we were all bummed by elections. =)

I hope your paper goes well. Do you get a winter break in grad school? I realize that I don't know whether you're on Quarters or Semesters.

We do get winter break from about mid-Dec. through early Feb., but the program requires that first-years go on a winter study trip to Europe for three weeks in January. It's one of the major perks of this program. So we're on semesters, but we go really late in the spring, until early June I think.
