So I'm trying to do a little more Mary Kay lately. We need the money and if there's anytime to sell Mary Kay it's the holidays. We'll see how it goes. It's still a stretch for me to come out and say I do Mary Kay to people here. (It's also wierd to tell Mary Kay people that I'm in grad. school for art history so can't win either way).

In other news I had another preliminary meeting about going to Falticeni, Romania next summer. It's looking like only 10-14 days will be financed, so if I want to do a longer independent study, rather than just checking out the museums I'll need to find further funding. Welcome to the world of art history, always looking/applying/begging for funding for one project or another.

Why is that? Is it because they expect Mary Kay to be your only job?

No, most people have other jobs. It wasn't so wierd while I was a student, just something about graduate school. Maybe because grad. school is something you really want to do, so why would you be looking for a "second career" which is how Mary Kay is often presented, rather than just a second job.
