Ah, to be an undergrad. To have even the slightest desire to attend parties like this that are advertised in the Daily Messages along with shuttles to the airport for Thanksgiving break, how you can study in Latin America, and job advertisements to deliver campus mail.

WILD ON THE WILLIAMS CAMPUS? ACE General Entertainment proudly
presents the Foam Party this Saturday in Armstrong Basement
from 10 PM to 1 AM. If you can't get A$$ at this party --
TRANSFER.

I'm not convinved that you really would want to go to this "foam party," nor am I convinved that it can provide you the A$$ you so desire. All Campus Entertainment (ACE) (http://ace.williams.edu/) [williams.edu] appears to be the Williams equivalent of Dartmouth's Programming Board. Which would explain why it was advertised as follows:

in the Daily Messages along with shuttles to the airport for Thanksgiving break, how you can study in Latin America, and job advertisements to deliver campus mail.

And we all know how cool Programming Board parties were.

It does change my interpretation of "foam," though. I guess at first when I was thinking it was a typical frat party I figured they must be referring to beer, but the identity of the group organizing the party changes this. Perhaps they have some kind of machine, like a bubble or a fog machine, only for foam? That would be cool. =)

Or maybe...

...it will be like that Jello Wrestling event Dartmouth had one term?

That could be much more interesting. ;-)

I think it is a machine that spews foam and gets everyone all wet. At least that's my understanding of a "foam party". Also I think that programming things here might be more popular than at Dartmouth because of the lack of fraternities. Although people do have house parties (there are a lot more residential houses as opposed to dorms), the Log which is like Lone Pine Tavern and Poison Ivy combined attracts a large crowd when they bring in a dj on Thursday nights. Denis used to work there carding people. It was sketchy. The grad. students went a couple of times, but in a more anthropological mode, (let's watch the mating rituals of the undergraduates and buy cheap beer).

What are you talking about? Except for being from the programming board, this party probably rocks. I would totally go to this.

Of course, the fact that it ends at 1 in the morning makes we want to mock the weaklings who are hosting the event and ending things just when the fun's getting started.
