oh, everyone at the BBQ on Monday liked Denis's baklava so much that they actually applauded him for it!
My sister and I had used Denis's mother's baklava recipe before, but we didn't make it the "right" way. Denis showed us exactly how small the walnuts should be, how to correctly oil the dough, and when the sugar syrup is perfect. It was very very delicious, I hated to leave the leftovers at the BBQ. The cookout also featured lamb sausages, which were ok, but kind of wierd.

The baklava that Denis's mom makes is indeed the best I've ever had. *drools* If the stuff he made was even half as good it would have been pretty darned delicious. ;-) I'm glad it was so well-received.

At Jeff's Memorial Day BBQ, I brought along some lamb curry sausages. They were o.k. At the time I had no problem with the notion of lamb sausages, but thought that perhaps curry isn't the most appropriate flavor. But maybe lamb sausages in general are just weird? I dunno, though, many meats can be made into yummy sausages. I'm currently particularly fond of turkey and chicken sausages, especially this sundried tomato garlic chicken one that I often get.
