Valentine's Day 2

Since I'm going out of town this weekend and wouldn't be able to enjoy cut flowers D. bought me chocolate-dipped strawberries :) They are very pretty and super yummy. A perfect compliment to seeing Avenue Q on Wednesday.

We're celebrating V-Day tonight because tomorrow we're going to be making pizza and salad with Amarna alumni at the house. Our usual Valentine's tradition is to order Thai takeout, buy bubbly, and make creme brulee (Dan's favorite). We're doing something different this year, though - we kept the bubbly, but we're eating the best salad I've ever made - mesclun, shredded root veg (beets, carrots, celeriac), mustard vinaigrette, chevre, and toasted pecans. It's AMAZING! No dessert because we're probably going to drink with Amarna alumni later.

Have fun at the shower! My SIL is pregnant again and we're planning a shower for her in a few weeks (she never got one the first time because she went on bed rest and the baby was six weeks premature).
