Some random things I've been watching intermittently:
Mad Men: oh how do I love thee? It's just incredible pitch-perfect television. Are you watching this yet?
Californication: The first season was on on demand. Sadly it is edited so all the swearing was dubbed and you watch much of it groaning (how many times can one hear "motherfather" or "mothersucker" really? It's distracting). I'm not super-enthusiastic but it kind of grew on me. David Duchovny you can make even an ass likeable. I adored the daughter. The wife was okay, in my mind she'll always be the love interest from the Truman Show. Oh and I liked the agent who played Charlotte's husband on Sex in the City. Good cast, great opening titles, probably much better with actual swearing. (WFT with the last 30 seconds of the season though?) If it was easily available I might watch the second season but I'm not going to put forth any effort into obtaining it.
Primeval: On BBC America, there are holes "anomalies" through time and space and dinosaurs come through. Also some good character-driven drama. The "science" is believable-ish. The acting's good and I'm starting to grow fond of the characters. Solid entertainment, recommended.
Skins: I've only caught a couple episodes of this (Sunday night on BBC, not on demand) and both have been really entertaining. Teenagers with lots of sex and angst done in a semi-realistic tone (much more emotionally realistic feeling than say Gossip Girl). Plot can sometimes be over the top (see fieldtrip to rural Russia) and heading towards soap-opera. Especially love how they include an asshole character. Is anyone else watching this? I'm almost sold enough to start making a point to remember to watch it on Sundays.
True Blood: Vampires on HBO. In the American South, of course. How can you not watch it? I've only seen the first episode and I'm kind of "meh" but it has potential. (Guess what people and vampires do on HBO. They have lots of sex, OMG I'm shocked.) Oh and remember that Buffy episode where she gets the power to hear people's thoughts? Yeah, someone didn't watch that one.
