The condensed version: Joss wasn't scheduled to appear at the con, so these guys had planned to do a gag segment for their podcast where they were going to ask random con people incredibly nerdy Joss-specific questions (like the Etruscan one), as if they were Joss. They'd talked to a fair few people when they suddenly spotted him and were like "OMG JOSS WHEDON!!!!" So they ran over and the interviewer was freaking out but had to think of a new joke, quickly. So I guess the video's a little less funny because the interviewer knew, but the story behind it is kind of cute. I think this quote sums it up:
