Something for both halves of the friends list:
For Williams/Washington friends:
Check out
nonemorecomic's Shasta the liger appreciation page complete with nifty song. (Remember ligers from Napoleon Dynamite?)
For Dartmouth friends:
sanj highly recommends her friend's (Naomi Novik/
naominovik) new novel Temeraire. It's available in the UK now and will be in the US soon. I haven't read it, but if you read things with dragons and/or the Napoleonic wars check it out.
In other news it's pouring rain and I don't want to go outside. (I'm sorry if you have to be outside in the rain.) I'm happy that the new elliptical trainer is here, assembled, and does not suck. Crabby due to my own laziness, sweater incident, and being woken up by a telemarker. Also sniffly nose made decisive mucus change from clear to ucky. In happier news, went to the club last night to join women's league and throw some rocks with
ellen_fremedon. Got some good tips (I keep the rock too far away from my body and then it ends up going to far to the side, stupid lateral motion) and a Tues. night team (waves at
cmshaw)!
