Thanksgiving was a success even if we didn't finish until a few hours later than we had anticipated. Everything is very yummy although we need to work a little on the mlinci. They're too thick and needed more time in the water. (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] jade_phoenix and [livejournal.com profile] coffman for the "rolling pin". We used the pretty blue vodka bottle they gave us for our wedding (long since emptied.) The turkey is especially good and we finally opened a bottle of our "honeymoon wine." We're looking forward to the leftovers party tomorrow. It was also nice to talk with friends and family even though we didn't see anyone, particularly with my dad (I usually talk to my mom on the phone), my aunt, and [livejournal.com profile] nonemorecomic.

Yesterday was great. I spent the afternoon looking at the monuments with [livejournal.com profile] darhoratio, [livejournal.com profile] homolinus, and [livejournal.com profile] mylene2k. It was a little chilly, but a beautiful day nonetheless. Then D. and I headed for a yummy Ethiopian dinner to celebrate [livejournal.com profile] ellen_fremedon's birthday. We foolishly forgot to get directions to the Captial Steps (where we were dropping off A. E. and K.) or the restaurant, but we got there all the same. Of course today I need to work on my long-neglected dada presentation so Denis kindly left to buy curling pants at Target (and I think christmas shopping too.)

Bad family news today. My grandpa was admitted to the hospital. Mom writes "He has been on coumidin[blood thinnner] and he is bleeding, internally and they don't know where. He has gotten blood, but it hasn't helped as much as they hoped." I'm worried about him and would appreciate any good thoughts, prayers, well wishes, etc. Whatever is your preferered way to send some positive energy out into the universe. Thanks in advance.
