Yesterday (not Monday as expected) they came and took the plastic away. (Yay! except no curtains and no plastic so everything was very bright last night.) We have been living for three days with the remainder of our furniture compressed into half our livingroom (the couch is now 2 feet from the tv and D. lives in a very small space in the curve between his corner desk and my corner desk which has migrated across the room and looks like it's trying to eat him). We no longer walk around the apartment, rather we squeeze by furniture to get to small islands of emptier space.
But the painters showed up this morning and hopefully painting will be a one day job and they will install the HVAC controllers and the paint will dry so we will have properly placed furniture and air conditioning by the time we leave for Ohio on Friday.
Also I got used to teaching freshmen and mixed classes and it turns out my summer class is *all* seniors, and *all* majors or minors so I think I'm not giving them enough (and they know more than I do) and I'm freaking out about my entire class structure and lectures.
