Empire Falls

I just saw a little "making of" segment on HBO for the movie Empire Falls. It was shot in Winslow (my hometown), Waterville (town across the river), and Skowhegan (nearby.) When they were shooting it was a big deal (Paul Newman, Ed Harris, Helen Hunt, and others are in it), my mom talked about how everyone would go out to see the shoot. They include a scene from a Waterville football game, the diner they shoot in is near the park where we always had fourth of July (in a restaurant my mother said she would never go into), they shot in the closed Hathaway factory, etc. It's neat to see my hometown in a movie. A couple weeks ago I saw The Human Stain on HBO which was shot on the Williams campus although I only recognized a couple of locations.
