catching up on sluggy

As I read through the sluggy archives I am dismayed to find the Amelia character. There are so few Amelias in pop culture: the dumb maid, the dumb goose from Aristocats (one of my favorite Disney movies when I was a kid), and the dumb flight attendant from The Terminal. Why must Sluggy's Amelia be an evil vampire who thinks Sam's cool? and a manipulative evil vampire, and perhaps worst of all: the butt of the Janet Jackson joke. I've only just started this story, I do not predict a good resolution for vampire Amelia. Oh Bush is on tv.

Amelia the vampire is HOT. You should be proud. Anyway, being evil is way cooler than being dumb.

I know how you feel - there aren't very many famous Erins or characters called Erin in popular culture. And, like, zero songs about girls named Erin.

Basically the only movie I know of with a main character named Erin is Next Stop Wonderland, which admittedly is cute, but not a very well-known film.

It's funny there aren't more Erins around since it's such a popular name. There are no Amelia songs either, but some friends at summer camp always used to sing Simon and Garfunkel's "Cecilia" to me and substitue in my name.

Gah! You know what? I totally forgot about Erin Brokovich. So okay, there's one famous Erin out there.
