Snow day today. Unfortunately I didn't realize class was canceled until I got to campus and the library was locked. Silly UMD thinks 3-6 inches of snow that didn't even stick to the roadways is a big deal. Denis worked from home today to avoid walking in the snow. His office closed early so a good choice.

James and I went to Baltimore to The Walters since they were open despite the weather. James had to look at a reliquary for class and I had never been. (Everytime I suggested going to Denis he said "do we have to this weekend?") It's a beautiful museum. They have some spectacular medieval objects in particular.

Just bought a green Michael Kors trenchcoat online. So pretty. Bluefly is dangerous. I bought some lovely sweaters from them last month that I really like. Also celebrating/mourning the end of Project Runway, which I have been rather obsessed with. Glad Jay won, I liked his stuff the best and Kara Saun ended up being bitchy in the finale (of course bitchiness and pretty clothes is why I loved Project Runway anyway.)

i liked Kara's the best. Jay's were a bit...odd,and I liked the glamourousness of Kara's. In keeping with the 'flight' theme, I thought some of them would be perfect as stewardess uniforms if an airline actually decided to start being beautiful and glamourous in a slight retro way again. but i still liked Jay. Wendy's wasn't good. I liked the weird, bronze belt buckle corsett thing on the last model she brought out, and not just for the effect on the model's boobs. otherwise Wendy's line was bleh.

it will be interesting to see what happens on the inevitable sequel.

I've been following Project Runway's website for a while now, so I actually have an opinion on an American "reality" TV show!

I liked Jay - and I think it was obvious that Tim really liked Jay too. It always seemed like Jay was doing something quirky and less expected that nevertheless fit the vision and though he usually didn't outright win, he was almost always 2nd or 3rd place with very few disappointments. I'm guessing it was that consistency that helped him in the end.

Sounds like a cool museum! Glad you got to go.

I'm not quite sure what they would do if we got that much snow all at once here in the southeast of England, either - it's been snowing some this week, but it never sticks. I know occasionally it does, but I think average annual snowfall is 8 or 9 inches where we are, and not all of that is coming at once and sticking, so if all of the sudden they had 6 inches of snow on the ground everything would probably grind to a halt.

My roommate Diana's been following the show religiously, and I got hooked towards the end :). Jay was my favorite too - he's so funny!!! I liked some of Kara's earlier stuff, but Jay's collection was awesome. I loved the theme, and even the outfits ;). Except the blue baggy one, what was up with that?? The quilt coat was amazing.

ooh, fun! bluefly is great. i've bought some really nice things there (in fact, that's where i got the marc jacobs dress i wore to your wedding).

like erin, i've been following project runway via the website and i've really enjoyed it. i thought both jay and kara were very strong designers, but jay's stuff is definitely more my style. i think the fact that wendy made it to the final three was a fluke. she'll never be able to produce and market a line.
