This weekend was lots of fun although it was a good example of my stubborness winning over good judgment. Friday night I played trivia at ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
sanj's . Lots of fun although I only stayed for the first half, leaving around 4:30am. Then Denis and I drove up to Philadelphia. Pretty dumb as we were driving into the snowstorm. I fell asleep and when I woke up somewhere in Maryland it was just all white. Roads were okay until we got into PA. We drove north of the city to meet my friend Erin and her husband for a late lunch. Tough going, but it was good to see them. She doesn't look very pregnant even though she's into her third trimester. Then we drove into the city. It took us over an hour to go 20 miles. Every 3-4 miles we had to stop and de-ice the windshield because the snow was freezing to it even though we had the heat on full blast. We felt like the hobbits on the snowy mountain trudging along.
We were so relieved to get to our hotel--a beautiful historic one downtown. We were so tired that we just went and hung out in the room. (Denis napped.) The weather was so bad we didn't even leave for dinner, eating in the hotel bar (food was good though.) So we enjoyed the room even though we'll have to go back to see Philly when the weather is warmer.
Sunday morning we went out to brunch. Parking was bad because all the cars were snowed in and even if there was a space it was so snowy we couldn't pull into it. Then we went to the Rodin museum before heading home.
Many thanks to Denis who drove the entire weekend and continually got out to scrape the windshield.
Classes start Wed. My first class is Thurs. and I just got an email assigning me reading for that first class. The term has officially begun.

Wow, that's a pretty hardcore trivia night!
