Thanks for all the votes of confidence everyone! I don't know if I lived up to Dan's prediction, but it went fine. I spoke a little fast, but they liked my pictures and I got some good feedback for my final paper.
Today is Tuesday, not very exciting. I have a doctor's appointment, the yearly, why-is-your-hand-in-there-?-please-get-this-over-with-exam. (Sorry if that's overly graphic) Then I have methods class, we're discussing visual studies and why old-school art historians feel so threatened by visual studies and hopefully in there somewhere will be exactly what visual studies is. The lecture tonight is by Prof. Rosenthal from Dartmouth! Yay! I think she's talking about constructions of whiteness in the 18th or 19th century. Whenever the English began to colonize and came into contact with darker skinned people and started stressing how white they were and I think it has something to do with masquerades and I'm sure it'll involve portraiture.
My landlady is leaving for Florida tomorrow! This means I can do my exercise tapes again and Denis can play his guitar at odd hours. She brought us over a homemade eggplant parm. that she had prepared and then frozen, but isn't going to use. We just have to bake it. It was very nice of her.
Oh so exciting Tuesday.
