I'm not a fan of SUVs (particularly when driven by people who have no use for them) and low gas-mileage vehicles in general, but have you seen the What Would Jesus Drive campaign? I think it's great that this is a way that the conservative right could embrace what has traditionally been a liberal cause, and it's great to see a religious movement embracing sound science (i.e. recognition that there's global warming) and using that and their moral convictions as an impetus for political action, but it still wierded me out.

Oooh, it looks like Jerry Falwell thinks the Evangelical Environmental Network is a bunch of hooey! (This must mean it's a good organization!) Here's a liberal summary of what he had to say (http://www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=14606).
