I had my first dry run yesterday. I think it went pretty well, they said I had good pacing and was clear (thanks to Denis for helping me pronounce all the croatian names correctly.) Of course there were lots of comments, I need to include a map (preferably from the 1910 encyclopedia britanica) and work on the contrast of some of my images, rewrite my introduction and conclusion, etc etc. They wanted me to draw a plan of a building, but I think I talked them out of it, my "artistic skills" do not need to be on display and drawing a plan from a photograph of a model would take more mathmatical estimating then I'm comfortable with. It was a little daunting, the auditorium is big and there are a lot of seats, even though only five of them were filled yesterday there's going to be considerably more people in June (hopefully).

So close yet so far, I have a lot of work to do, but the end is in sight. If I could only come up with a thesis for my (neglected) Klee paper I would be in a good shape, but there is a conservation take-home exam, comments on 102 papers, class reading, responses to classmates' papers, etc that I'm using as procrastination techniques. I got up early and went for a run this morning so I wouldn't take up the afternoon with exercise, now I just need to go to the library and avoid the internet to remain productive, no napping today.

PS I need a new picture and decided to use this one for sad or introspective entries. While it doesn't fit the mood of this entry it is a Mestrovic sculpture and makes a brief appearance in my presentation so I thought I'd try it out here.
