I haven't really been updated about trapeze recently. I took a couple weeks off after the show and just went back yesterday. I was hoping to work on my backend straddle, but I really needed to strengthen my swing (I keep bending my knees when I go back, it just kills any power I might have, I really need to stop doing that).
Anyway I have some pictures my mom took from the trapeze show dress rehearsal (none from the show itself, sorry).

And the rest are here.
The trick is a hocks off, although I'm doing a slightly different position. On my first swing out I place my heels on the bar. Then, when I'm back toward the platform I extend them over my head (what I'm doing in the picture here, you can see the final position in another of the pictures). Then on my way back to the catcher I hook my knees over the bar, let go with my hands, reach the catcher, then let go with my knees.
As always if you want to come play classes are in DC, NYC, Boston, and LA.
