va is for family

Had a lovely extended weekend with my sister and mom. We went outlet shopping for work clothes (felt just like school shopping when we were younger except I buy my own clothes now, well most of them), bought lots of presents for my sister's dog and my cousin's baby, went out for mexican and japanese bbq, and went to the aquarium. My mom spent her free time sewing a quilt for my sister and doing her mending, and I cooked ginger scones for everyone Sunday night. My sister's dog is still cute although so attached to my sister she won't go for a walk with or eat treats from anyone else. The only negative part of the weekend was my sister's boyfriend's bird. The bird has lived longer than normal birds and squaks loudly from sunrise to sunset, even on weekends. Other than the background bird noise it was a really nice time. I hope we can do it again some time.

Deviating from the one way I know to get out of VA, not so yay :(
neotoma and I took the scenic way home, stopping at the Pentagon City mall for a quick phone chat with denis77 before a scenic, if hurried tour of the monuments, a view of the underside of the Kennedy Center balcony, and some of the Mass Ave. embassies. I'm pretty sure (I really hope) I dropped her off in time to catch one of the last trains. :(
