Last Thursday I turned in my conservation exam, last Friday my Klee paper (the last seminar paper I'm turning in at this school), and today I had my last dry run! It went really well although I started getting nervous towards the end (weird to get more nervous as I went along.) They said my presentation was very "stylish." I think I'm all ready for symposium. (If any of you are in the Berkshires and want to hear about Mestrovic the symposium is the 4th.) I even returned all my library books and cleaned out my carrel : (
All I have left is to attend a classmate's dry run next week and to finish grading the 102 exams. It'll be nice to have a week just to rest before graduation.
Saturday Denis and I drove David to the Albany airport and then went shopping at the mall. I still have a bit of a "spending money" hangover, but we bought some much needed clothes. I got some cute skirts, shorts, sandals, and t-shirts for summer. My jeans were also getting ridiculously baggy so I got two new pairs of pants. Not only did I go down a size, but instead of buying the baggy fit I could get the slim fit!!! (I think I actually went down two sizes, but I was in denial about going up one around college graduation and just kept wearing pants with stretch.) Denis bought a bunch of stuff too and has been going to the gym more regularly.
At the mall we also went to see Van Helsing. (I wanted to see Shrek 2, but we were worried it would be really crowded the first weekend.) The movie was good, it was 2 hours of entertainment, but nothing special. I think the League of Extraordinary Gentleman last year was better.
Sunday we worked on trip plans, communicating between Denis's family and my parents. Kind of a pain, but the trip will be worth it. Sunday night we went to an almost-the-end-of-dryruns BBQ hosted by the program director. It was really nice to see everyone, and the food was fabulous. I ate like a pig, it was great. Denis's baklava got rave reviews (as always.)
