I got the letter with the details of my award and it is good. It covers tuition remission, health insurance, and a stipend. The stipend is more then I'm getting now, but would be very difficult to live on as anyone's single source of income. Still I'm not complaining, they're paying me to study art history.

While I'm thrilled, Denis is now feeling pressure to find a job. Mindy has been wonderful (yay Mindy!) by giving him some suggestions to edit his resume (which I tried to do, but didn't understand any of the acronyms, I could only do commas and such), and most importantly passing his resume on to people at her company. So we are crossing our fingers that that goes well. Now we're in to job searching and trying to negotiate where we're going to live (near school--my first choice, near where Denis may work, somewhere in between, should/can we wait for Denis to find a job?, do we need a second car? etc.)

Only six more weeks of classes and eight until graduation, yikes! I've been slacking somewhat the last couple weeks, I have to pick up the pace a bit. I have my first dry run for my qualifying paper next week and a presentation for my Weimar paper a couple after that. I'm working on Klee and the mechanical, focusing specficially on "Twittering Machine" (owned by MoMA), but I don't have a thesis yet. Conservation is great because I just have to do the reading, go to class, and occasionally do a take-home exam, it's very low stress. TAing 102 has also been fine, the midterm was pretty easy so they did pretty well and paper #2 is compare and contrast which should be interesting to read. I've also been continuing with Croatian, we went out to dinner with my tutor on Saturday, but she's had a wierd work schedule the last couple weeks so we haven't been meeting as often. Maybe I'm just adjusting to the pressure.
