We had the nicest Christmas Eve ever yesterday! Mostly because Denis didn't have to work at all for the first time in forever (and he only has two more days off before I leave for Europe, Saturday for extended-family-Christmas and next Friday when he's driving me to the airport).
We went to the mall and saw Lord of the Rings (Denis was sooo excited) and to make it even better it was free! The theater manager didn't show up to work so the ticket guy couldn't get into the computer or the safe for change so he couldn't sell any tickets and just let everyone in for free! Then Denis needed to buy me a present so I got my haircut. I haven't gotten it cut since before the wedding and it's so nice having someone else wash and play with my hair. I think I'm going to get my sister to help me dye it (semi-permanent red again) sometime in the next couple days. She staying with us until Sat., my parents are coming down to too but they have a hotel room. I'm a little nervous about them driving down today because we're supposed to have a huge snowstorm; 24-28 inches, worst in the mountains of VT just where my family's driving since they have to stop in the Upper Valley to drop off the dog. Currently it's not snowing so maybe it missed us.
Anyway, we also got a box from Croatia filled with Croatian candy (yummy) and pictures from the kids, a nice holiday tablecloth, and ugly kitchen curtains that his mother will never know I never put up. So I actually cooked a dinner with more than one course (usually I just do something like pasta, but I made ham, potatos, and broccoli) and we watched the third season of Sopranos which I got Denis for his birthday in Oct., but we wanted to see them together so we're only at #4. It was a lovely day and evening. Especially since Denis has to work all day today, yuck.
