I'm checking images today and I have a headline mystery.
There's an image from the exhibition designers of a Dallas Morning News headline from May 24, 1934 that reads "Posse Kills Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker." The designers got if off an ebay listing for a reproduction newspaper that you can see here.
But when I checked the Dallas Morning News archives the front page from May 24, 1934 looks like this.
Any ideas on the discrepancy? I also checked the DMN for the 25th-27th and none of them match. Do you think there would be another edition? But then why wouldn't the headline show up on the DMN site? Any thoughts would be appreciated. I'm also having the same problem with a Dillinger headline.
