Erin, my friend from highschool, just had her first baby. She is the first of the six of us. (Since my other friends are keeping track: she was the first to get married, followed shortly by me, and just recently by Tim. She is the only one to have bought property.) I heard a few days ago from a friend whose mother works with Erin's mother (small town.) The comment from another in the group was "guess we have a lot of catching up to do," but I don't think really think that's the case.
Erin sent out a picture today. The baby is very sweet. I can't believe Erin has a baby. Erin who I met in Little Lamb nursery school, whose mother we had for stretch (advanced placement classes) in elementary school, who was a good friend all the way through highschool. We drifted apart at college, Erin's the one who went to a very christian school, (she now teaches math at a small christian highschool in PA), but we still keep in touch. I'm just amazed at the reality of her having a baby.

It's weirder the further back you know the person. When college friends have kids it's less weird because you didn't know them when they were kids themselves.
