olympics curling commentary

I just realized USA has women's curling coverage this afternoon! Woot!

American male commentator (no clue about the sport):
Does that 5th end break screw you up?

Canadian Female commentator (curler):
No, not really. It's just because television demanded it. Certainly in club play, you wouldn't take a break. Well you might run in and grab a beer and bring it out on the ice, but that's recreational curling.

ETA: That was an exciting game!!!!! (US vs. Russia)

I liked it a little earlier, though my thing is less about beer and more about how the dude is learning but not really there yet. USA lies three, one in the twelve-foot and two biters. Russia has the hammer, and skip's in the hack.

Andrew: And now all the Russian skip has to do is draw to that four-foot blue circle.
Colleen: Yeah, but she's just going to hit and stick for the one point.
Andrew: Oh.
Colleen: Even though it's a relatively easy draw to the eight-foot ring for one.

That "Oh" was precious. :-)
