Just wanted to let you know that I am not still drunk. In fact woke up (without a hangover) Saturday morning. Saturday was Fall Out Boy concert day. D. and I slept in, puttered around, and then left for the concert. We had hoped to get there around 2, but arrived closer to 3pm. Sadly we missed the wristband guy by 15-20 minutes :( We also parked in the evil south parking lot, but found [personal profile] bayleaf and friends by the far superior north entrance. (There was no flash flood, riot, or snake incident as advertised by those who attended this concert last year.)

Despite our naked wrists we joined [personal profile] trixie's entourage and gained superior (shaded!) seats in the pavilion. (Shade was important because the tattoo still isn't supposed to be in direct sunlight, and while hanging out in partial shade in 90-100 degree heat with an umbrella probably helped cut down the exposure I was still worried about it. Plus I just hate direct sunlight in general.)

I really enjoyed the show despite it having some heavy MTV tie-in that included a dude that kept asking if we wanted to be his date to some awards show (uh no) and telling us how we could be on tv (no I'm not going into your booth and talking about stress relief) and making everyone yell for the cameras (we're too old for this really).

The first set was Hey Monday who I didn't know and thought was fine. Good energy. Then Cobra Starship who I know and am neutral on, but D. didn't know and loved (and who the crowd clearly knew and loved). Third was All Time Low who I had never heard of, but really enjoyed. (They just graduated from highschool a year or two ago, they're local and this is their biggest concert ever and they talked about being nervous, adorable!). Then randomly Fifty Cent performed. He joined them for part of the tour and this was his last night (some mtv thing?, it seemed really weird). He was good, I'm not a huge fan, but why not. Finally Fall Out Boy came on (or as Fifty Cent said "fall out boys") and were awesome!!! Was amused by the suits and wig at the beginning, I also liked that they covered "Beat It". Everyone (except the dad in front of us who was clearly there only to shepherd two middle-school-aged girls) had a great time!!!

Then we went home and went to bed. Only to get up and go to a farewell brunch for [personal profile] afrikate with [personal profile] uschickens, [personal profile] axiom_of_stripe, and [personal profile] lightgetsin on Sunday.

So maybe we're not too old for this as long as we get seats, shade, and plenty of water :)

Now its in the 90s and humid and we won't have air conditioning (or even curtains! and we get afternoon sun) for at least two weeks. Permit me a moment to whine.
