Hello and Happy Thanksgiving everyone,
A huge thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and shared their favorite activity and food. These are the results. (No, the numbers don't come to be the same value, but that is because several people gave two answers and since they are all good I included each and every one.)

This has been fun to see how much we are really alike even though we live far apart and some of us don't know each other. In my researching, about the history I found many interesting facts. I wanted to share a bit about 5 traditions which one author chose as most prevalent.
Turkey in some form is eaten by 95% of the people in USA on Thanksgiving Day.
Football was first played on Thanksgiving in 1876 (1st intercollegiate Championship)
Parades - 1st was in 1920 promoted by Gimbels in Philadelphia!
1st Macy's Parade was in 1924
Wishbone Contest - Making a wish using this method has been traced back to the Etruscans in 322BC
Giving Thanks for Good Life and Harvest has been common in many cultures for many years. (Note: This is very interesting and is for another time. It involves culture, myths, legends, religion, etc....)
Another fact I found interesting: Our picture of the ideal 1st Thanksgiving of 1621 has less do with reality and more to do with PR!!!!!! Mmmm ??? This information is on the Plymouth Plantation site.
My thinking that Thaksgiving Day is important to me as a time of remembering to give thanks for all out blessings is not diminished by how it came about.
We hope you have a lovely day wherever you are, and whatever you are eating!!
With Love and Thanks, Ted and Lois
