Burnt my thumb last night on a hot pan. I was trying to do the dishes and prepare something for dinner at the same time and was too tired to be doing even one task. It hurt so much that even a couple hours later as I was trying to go to sleep I needed ice to take the edge off. It feels better this morning, but it basically destroyed my night last night so this morning I had to hustle to prepare for class today (I'm doing a 15 min. report on Japanese Dada). Still tired and cranky. I'm not back into the routine of school yet. I have to do something so that at 7pm I don't get home so exhausted and starving that I don't have energy to work for another hour or two. Grrr.

Mom and dad coming to visit today, that should be nice.

Had dinner with my parents and uncle. It was nice to chat although I'm covered in bugbites from grilling the chicken in the backyard. Uncle's baby puppy is cute, but viscious, and according to mom baby Patrick is doing well (including breastfeeding of course.) A happy thought from last night--the closing of the House season opener was "Hallelujah," my favorite-song-of-the-moment thanks to the Rufus Wainwright version coffman and jade_phoenix sent me.
