Last night was skiffy night, or as I call it in my head "Sci Fi Fridays 2008/Old School Version". Sci Fi Fridays 2005(?) was how we first got to know [livejournal.com profile] sanj, [livejournal.com profile] ellen_fremedon, [livejournal.com profile] bayleaf, and [livejournal.com profile] lightgetsin (who used to have a much more difficult lj name), and eventually [livejournal.com profile] uschickens, I think. Anyway the basis for our friends group in DC and it's nice to reprise the spirit of them. This time around instead of watching live tv (BSG), we're doing old school stuff, Dr. Who, maybe some Star Trek, whatever people want.

Last night we watched two 1st Doctor things, An Unearthly Child and the Daleks. While the pacing was really damn slow 1963 style they were entertaining and we had a good time watching and discussing. Yay for [livejournal.com profile] ellen_fremedon's hostessing. Next week I hear there will be Aztecs :)

Today we're heading to Annapolis to Ravenchase with [livejournal.com profile] durdge and Jem. We're really late since we should be there now (at their house, not Annapolis) and D. is still naked and dirty. (Well actually he's dressed in mildly smelly clothes, getting clean laundry so he will have something to wear after he showers). ETA, okay now he's in the shower (presumably naked and getting cleaner) so we should be heading off soon. The race is Monty Python themed and should be tons of fun! It's run by one of the teams we played against during GAR so it will be neat to see their clue-writing style. Unfortunately [livejournal.com profile] uschickens can't come because she's either still in NYC (in which case I'm sorry) or packing for Spain (in which case I'm less sorry). [livejournal.com profile] bayleaf can't come either because she's preparing for her mom's arriving, but we will get to meet her mom and that should be very fun (it's always interesting to meet your friends' parents).

Oh and tonight A. and J. invited us to Seder. I've never been to one to that should be fun as well. :)
