I've been eating like crap this week. Really like crap, like a gallon of icecream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (a gallon total not a gallon each). Predictably I'm not feeling great. I made some Dream Dinner's stew and it came with way too many egg noodles.
Now I have a craving for egg noodles with cider vinegar, salt, and pepper. It feels like a really old craving, but I can't quite place it. Where have I had this before? When my mother went through her Suddenly Salad phase? (Suddenly Salad is a boxed pasta salad.) College salad bar creation? (No I think that was chickpeas with balsamic vinegar.) Croatia? Salad dressing there is almost always a vinegrette with cider vinegar. I can't remember and it's annoying.
