Next Tuesday my museum's class will be held in NYC. We're having class as usual in the afternoon, but we have to come prepared to report on our experience in a NYC museum, so that will pretty much be my morning. I think I'm going to pick the Asia Society, although I don't actually know what it is, but it's the building we're eventually meeting in and I'm nervous about getting lost and being late. I think I'm going to get a ride with David and then we're going to take the train in, and then back. I'm not sure how early yet, but it'll probably be a long day. I'm not as excited as I hopefully will be because I'm worried about not knowing where I'm going and not being able to get done what I need to do.

Someone (most likely our landlady's son, she's in Florida) left a very loud t.v. or radio on in her apartment, right under our bedroom. So while it was no problem for Denis, I'm very sensitive to noise and couldn't sleep. We (ok, Denis) called several times, left a message on an answering machine, and then went down and banged on both the front and back doors, but to no avail. Finally I just slept in the office on the mattress we're keeping temporarily for my sister. It seems like no one's there since the music is still going this morning. Blech, this is why we moved away from West Leb.

In good news, I'm really enjoying all of my classes (even French isn't too tedious). The book for my modernism class is great. (The Great American Thing, I highly recommend it, she makes a point to write in a very readable (i.e. intelligent but not art-historical-technical) language, and although it's art history she talks a lot about cultural context, specificially that of New York and Paris in 1910-1930, and great illustrations.) Thought I'd end on a positive note.
