Briefly home after a week in a half. This weekend heading out to AZ for a vacation with my parents and then to NOLA with D.
Holidays were good. I drove up to Maine with my sister and her boyfriend. I really like this boyfriend. Had a good time just hanging out and resting at home. It met S. and D. for dinner at this great restaurant in Freeport. It was good to catch up. Spent one day with some girlfriends from highschool (including one who moved away sophomore year who I hadn't seen in about a decade). It really enjoyed visiting (plus I got a great leather jacket from LL Bean for $139).
Then headed to the Upper Valley for extended family Christmas. Met up with D. and had a great family weekend. We stayed with my great aunt and uncle (I think that's what they are? She's my grandmother's sister). They're really nice and we hadn't really spent any time with them before. Most of Christmas was spent watching the two dogs (my parent's black lab Zephyr and my sister's cutey-pie quargie-dauschund Lucky) and my cousin's super-cute, friendly, and adventurous 15-month-old Patrick run around the house.
New Year's in MA was fantastic! Just what we needed. Met some new people, got to know some familiar faces better, and of course saw L. S. and E. (too lazy for lj name tags).
I've been pretty good about the running despite the changing conditions. I've now run in the rain, spitting snow, freezing cold (10 degrees!), and heavy snow. I've run around my hometown, my old highschool track, in the middle of a country road in NH, and in my great aunt's basement. I've also gone with my sister, the dogs, my cousin, and my cousin's husband (not all at the same time). Yay for company! I'm up to 4 miles and hope to do 4.5-5 this week. Healthy eating hasn't gone nearly so well, but eh it's the holidays.
Glad to be home although I have a lot of unpacking and cleaning to do. Happy New Year's everyone!!!
