abka: painting of daffodils and pear (Default)

Only one more week at work and here in MA and things are getting super-busy. My boss has a grant application due and there's lots to be done, plus I am (predictibly) behind on packing, and I want to spend time this weekend seeing the current shows at the Clark and Mass MoCA while I'm still in the area.

I wasn't feeling too stressed, but aparantly my psyche is as last night I had a classic stress dream. I had to teach three chemistry classes (even though I don't know anything about chemistry), but I overslept, got delayed talking to my parents, couldn't find my coat (and couldn't leave without it) and then the building was far away from the building I needed to go to. I missed two sections, but would have made the third, but then missed it too. Then it was the next week and I was going to miss the sections again except this time it was calculus (even worse then chemistry) and I was going to get fired. Of course this dream occured sometime in the 45 minutes I overslept my alarm this morning. *sigh*

Anyway, I have a hair appointment this Sunday and I'm not sure what to do with my hair color. I like my new redish color. On the pro side it is a bit of a change, I like it, it encourages me to get my hair cut more often, since I often wait too long before bothering with it (although I have horrid split ends and roots right now.)
On the con side: I'm worried I may not find someone in DC who can replicate it, it does cost extra money--sometimes I feel justified in spending it (I'm an adult, I can spend some money on my appearance) and other times it feels like a waste (is a slightly different hair color really a financial priority right now?), I like my natural color and undyed hair means less to worry about/maintain (no roots, one less thing to do).

So for those of you who have seen me both dark-medium brown and slightly-lighter reddish-brown any thoughts? Is it enough of a change to keep bothering doing it? Flattering with my skin, unflattering, fine as long as the roots don't grow in? (I'm not the best with upkeep so it's good if some roots don't look horrid--for your reference, it was fairly newly dyed at Chris and Erin's wedding and I had some roots at Sarah and Dan's). oh, you dyed your hair? sorry, don't really care are also valid comments. Denis claims he can't decide unless two of me with different colors stand side by side, so he's not very helpful. I don't think he really cares and that's fine. Just feeling indecisive.
