abka: child toating marshalls in 70s attire (marshmallows)
( May. 4th, 2009 06:13 pm)
Things that are making me happy right now:
-student papers, interesting choices of subjects, pretty good, and the grading is progressing relatively quickly
-baby! Jacob continues to get bigger and I'll probably get to visit him next week
-smitten with MOVITS!, they're on repeat. You should go listen to a song or two here. I am entertaining fantasies of traveling to Scandinavia for a concert (not going to happen). I desperately want the CD but so far the only place I can find online that sells it is sold out *pout*, I'd also like English translations of the lyrics if anyone is or has any friends fluent in Swedish *pouts in cute way*
-the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, I read the books ages ago and they were cute. The tv show (HBO) is just lovely, a perfect pick-me-up with engaging, but not depressing, plots, well-written characters, and good acting.
-it's cool outside thank goodness (still no HVAC)
-tattoo!
-trapeze started, I was waiting on tattoo to heal and now on the rain to go away, but sometime soon I should be able to go up!
-leaving the house: I really should/should've do/done that today

Things that are not making me happy right now:
-dissertation progress, I don't want to talk about it
-the people haven't been coming in lately and now I'm getting nervous, is the construction ever going to end? We will ever have air conditioning or curtains again? This is week 6, if it ends this week it will be a miracle, I'm crossing my fingers it won't get past week 7. (Note we don't actually know how it it's going although they have begun to put stuff back into the wall.)
-gray weather, glad it's not hot, but the rainy-ness makes it hard to motivate oneself to leave the house, or do anything
-going to the gym regularly: see rainy weather, also general inertia and work stress
-my summer class starts in less than a month and I am not prepared. *blech-o*

PS I still have dreamwidth invites if anyone's interested.

I was going to add this onto the list, but thought it might merit it's own post. After several years (2? 3? 4? I have no idea) Airis (the Noble, I finally finished a group of holiday quests) my dwarf hunter finally dinged 80!

oh but clearly playing too much WoW as a couple nights ago I had a dream that started out as scary zombies but ended up with all my friends and family (including extended family) LARPing WoW.

Complete with:
-me thinking we were playing Alliance when everyone else was already over at the Horde side
-the cat herding that occurs when you have a group of 30 people who all want to do different things (think about taking your extended family complete with small children to the DC mall and trying to figure out who wants to go in what museum and where are the bathrooms and do we have snacks, etc. Now insert contexts of quests and raids)
-my mother sitting on a bench with my father bickering about whether we're going to attack the people by running into the valley or up the mountain while I'm running around trying to find D.

(Note: D. found this dream hilarious and told me to post it.)
