WWJD
I'm not a fan of SUVs (particularly when driven by people who have no use for them) and low gas-mileage vehicles in general, but have you seen the What Would Jesus Drive campaign? I think it's great that this is a way that the conservative right could embrace what has traditionally been a liberal cause, and it's great to see a religious movement embracing sound science (i.e. recognition that there's global warming) and using that and their moral convictions as an impetus for political action, but it still wierded me out.

This weirds me out a little too - I mean, I'm really happy that they're all for saving the environment and all, but I'm not used to agreeing with religious groups about anything. Unfortunately, it seems like the media is generally making fun of the people behind it. Figures that the one religious group I agree on would be ridiculed by the majority of society.
What Falwell has to say...
Some highlights:
"The whole [global warming] thing is created to destroy America's free enterprise system and our economic stability."
"I urge everyone to go out and buy an SUV today."
