Meatloaf and Models

Thanks for all the hugs and good thoughts everyone. I took yesterday afternoon off from work, didn't sleep but rested and made meatloaf (thanks again to Chris for another good recipe). Who knew playing 50s housewife would make me feel a little better, I think it was just doing something productive. Today I'm not feel naueous (or bitchy), but still kind of down and generally lethargic. Maybe the bikeride home today will help although I wasn't happy to hear on the radio this morning that it was 80 degrees at 8:00am with a high of 90 today, but of course it will feel much hotter because of the humidity. On a happy note, it's the two-hour season finale of The Search for America's Next Top Model, which I'm so obsessed with I actually learned how to set the VCR for the first time (Denis has had this VCR since before we started dating so of course there's no instruction manual, and I haven't felt the need to set it in 5 years). I am aware how pathetic that is; at least I'm not leaving work early to see the beginning (this did briefly cross my mind while I was arguing with the VCR last night). Such an exciting life.

hey, you know there's nothing like meat loaf.

(live in concert in Bryant Park, by the way, Friday Aug (15?) at 7am. Brought to you by Good Morning America.)

I'm glad you feel better, by the way.

Being able to program a VCR is a skill that will reward you for years to come. At the very least, you can say that you know how to program your VCR, which is braggable.

The weather report this morning said NYC will hit 100 degrees today. I'm glad I picked yesterday to buy and install an air conditioner in the new apartment.

I actually have known how to program a VCR since highschool (I taped episodes from the first couple seasons of the X-files), but with our DVD player, digital cable box, and four remotes set-up I got confused. We're still not really sure if the VCR correctly communicates with the digital cable box and what channels the t.v., vcr, and cable box need to be on, so we'll see if it works tonight.

I'm pretty sure that not needing to record anything off of TV for the past 5 years means that you rock. Rather than the other way around.

Many people find meatloaf sort of frightening, but I like it, it's sort of a comfort food to me. And I'm glad you like it too! Also, I have to say that I much prefer this whole using-ground-turkey thing to using ground beef now. It's very strange to me that turkey could be as versatile as it is, but I'm not complaining.
